Five principles to distinguish a Chinese people
Reputation and compliance are the most essential parts of a company's competitive advantage when we select a partner from China. Reputation is very puzzling because it is not a standardized criterion of evaluation. It is a subjective impression. Strategy and capital are the cornerstones and pillars of success, but reputation and the characters that constitute it are fundamental to intelligent people. One of my mentors said that life affects life. As a Buddhist, we call this the law of cause and effect. Reputation is the fruit of such people’s characteristics.
To distinguish one person’s characteristics, ancient Chinese wisdom could be workable for your reference.Â
There are five principles to figuring out Chinese characteristics. Chinese believes that similar characteristic people attract each other. If you find out one reliable person, that means his friends would be also reliable. The 2nd principle is to observe the giving. It can show us how justice and generous the person is. The person will use a similar way to treat you as well. The kind of people he or she takes with can show us his decision on people selection and the thinking way about his partnership. And the last one is what he didn’t take when he was poor. It releases the bottom line of this person’s most important value. When someone tells the boss to pour the waste into the water to save money, will he do it or not? The answer could be different. So the bottom line of the boss decides the future of the company.Â
The reason why I emphasize reputation is that I learned many lessons when I worked with Chinese bosses. I hope you will not suffer a similar tough situation as me. Chinese ancestors predict people’s behavior and their characteristics by their historical behaviors. It shall be the most efficient way to make a new friend.
